What Should Adults Do?

banner-web-ready

We can do a lot to slow down climate change, but so can adults! Sometimes they just need a friendly reminder….

Ruby and friends in the United States tell adults “Give us hope!” You can sing along!

Give us hope. Global warming’s a problem.

Can you see? Look at the air!

Can you feel? The temperature is rising!

Give us hope, and kids’ll show you the way!

Help stop global warming and create a good future for kids around the world!

Don’t idle!(stopping for more than ten seconds exept in traffic with the engine on) Idling can increase air pollution deeply!

Use less hot water. It takes a lot of energy to heat water. To make hot water, your burning gas witch puts carbon dioxide into the air

Something that adults can do to slow down climate change is to on a nice day you can ride you bike to work or anywhere you may need to go. You do not have to ride your bike to a place that is 2 hours away but you can ride your bike to a place that is close to you. This helps slow down climate change because cars pollute the air with the gas that is coming out of the car and pollution is not helping climate change! This is way adults should ride their bikes to a place that is close to you.

Adults can and should promote awareness of global warming by using the radio tv and websites. Theirs so many things you can talk about come on adults get on it.

Adults should do more errands at a time. It saves cars from putting too much CO2 in the air and saves time. When you go back and forth it uses more gasoline which burns into CO2. Instead of going to the supermarket and then home and going back to a different store, you could go to both instead of using more gas by going back and forth.

Drive a bit slower so your car might have up to 4 extra miles of gas and it doesn’t burn as much fuel which causes air pollution.

One way adults can slow down global warming is by getting a programmable thermostat. The thermostat will lower the heat or air conditioning at night and raise the heat again in the morning. This helps by saving you $100 on your energy bill. Because you save money you save energy which means that they don’t need to burn as much coal to create energy.

Adults can change light bulbs in their houses for the better CFL bulbs to eliminate 150 more pounds of carbon dioxide and that helps the earth because, the factories are not having to burn as many fossil fuels for the CFL bulbs.

Driving less can help slow down climate change because more than half of our Carbon Dioxide comes from vehicles, so use public transit, carpool, vanpool, bikes, walk, and telework from home if possible. You save 1 pound of Carbon Dioxide for each mile of driving you eliminate.
